With his international background and entrepreneurial spirit, Jan Gleisner has brought an unconventional and effective approach to insurance and financial planning that is process oriented and centered around each family he works with. He is primarily helping successful business owners and professionals achieving their financial goals. As many clients have experienced over the years, some of the better solutions are often found through boutique firms rather than the larger wire houses that need to please their shareholders through revenue created by charging the clients. The more client-centered solutions that can be found at the C-level and board level are often not available – except through boutique firms/independent advisers.
Life Insurance Planning
Outside of his duties with Carmel Valley Insurance Agency, Gleisner serves on the advisory board for the Denmark-based international toy company Moover Toys.
Furthermore, Jan Gleisner serves as an advisor for Hermes Econometrics, a registered investment advisor based in California. Their focus is divided into two segments: investment management for other firms and advisory services for private clients who want an alternative to traditional asset management, which is vulnerable to big drawdowns in bad years. Hermes Econometrics focuses on risk management and liquidity, which allows Gleisner and the team to efficiently navigate today’s turbulent markets in a less volatile manner, while working toward the shared goal of meeting the long-term objectives of their clients.
Jan Gleisner began his career with GE Financial Assurance, where he was consistently the top producer for the San Diego region. It was at GE Financial Assurance where he received his insurance and financial related training, a little more than a decade ago. He left GE Financial to build a regional wealth management firm, CA Wealth Management, which he ran until he founded Carmel Valley Insurance Agency, Inc. and continued as an independent financial adviser through various firms. He previously served for several years on the board of City Ballet of San Diego, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
Jan Gleisner holds a Masters in Social Sciences – Business & Communication and BA in Business, Summa Cum Laude, from Roskilde University, Denmark.
He currently resides in San Diego, California where he enjoys playing tennis, socializing with family/friends, and cooking during his free time.
